Hai Chau Ward - Da Nang proposes ways to deal with the scenario of administrative procedure overload

According to the Resolution of the National Assembly Standing Committee, Quang Nam province will merge into Da Nang as Da Nang city with 23 wards, 70 communes and 1 special zone of Hoang Sa.

Notably, the new Hai Chau ward (will be merged from 5 wards such as Thanh Binh, Thuan Phuoc, Thach Thang, Phuoc Ninh, Hai Chau) aims to streamline the apparatus, reduce intermediate levels, increase management efficiency, and serve the people.

This morning, at the Hai Chau District Public Administration Center, there were many people coming to do administrative procedures, most of the people coming to do procedures did not have to wait long, the documents were received and processed quickly.

Mr. Nguyen Van Duy - Chairman of Hai Chau Ward People's Committee (Da Nang) said that on the first working day, in order to handle administrative procedures smoothly, without congestion and overload, the unit has prepared early and increased the scale of the procedure counter.

According to Mr. Duy, the public administrative center used to have 7 counters but now it has been increased to 14. This morning, people came to receive money related to supporting the poor.

"The new operating model, to prepare for situations that arise, we have arranged an additional counter with 2 specialist comrades, one working to receive documents, one instructing people on procedures related to expertise.

To cope with overload, the public administrative center has also arranged temporary shelters, as this merger could increase the number of people coming to do administrative procedures" - Mr. Duy said.

Previously, right after the ceremony to announce the establishment of the new Da Nang City, comrade Tran Cam Tu - Politburo member, Standing member of the Secretariat inspected the actual operation of the two-level government in Hai Chau Ward.

At the Hai Chau Ward Public Administration Service Center, the Standing Committee of the Secretariat directly discussed with people coming to complete the procedures, listened to feedback on the speed of settlement, service quality, and difficulties still encountered in the process of transferring the administrative apparatus.

Through on-site inspection, Standing member of the Secretariat Tran Cam Tu emphasized that in the first phase of implementing the new model, Party committees and authorities at all levels need to pay special attention to stabilizing the organization and ideology of cadres, continuing to carefully review and effectively operate the 2-level apparatus in the direction of streamlining and modernity, serving the people quickly, promptly and in accordance with the law.

"It is necessary to put people at the center of all activities of the government; at the same time, ensure that each cadre clearly sees his responsibility towards the people, especially in the current transition period" - Standing member of the Secretariat Tran Cam Tu noted.
