Quang Tri - Traffic volume increased sharply after Tet, at many times cars lined up on National Highway 1 and National Highway 9, traffic police forces had to increase regulation.

From the 4th to the 5th day of Lunar New Year 2026, the traffic volume through Quang Tri province increased sharply, especially on National Highway 1 and National Highway 9. At many times, vehicles had to move slowly, tail each other for a long time.

On February 21, recorded on National Highway 1 section passing through the south of Quang Tri province, the number of cars and passenger cars increased sharply. In Dien Sanh commune area, at times the flow of vehicles was dense, moving little by little in the North-South direction.

Not only on National Highway 1, National Highway 9 section passing through Hieu Giang commune to Nam Dong Ha ward also recorded dense traffic density. Most vehicles from the Van Ninh - Cam Lo expressway poured down National Highway 9, then merged into National Highway 1 to continue their journey to the southern provinces.

According to records, one of the reasons why vehicles turned to National Highway 1 is that the Cam Lo - La Son expressway is in the process of upgrading and expanding lanes, the speed of the entire route is limited to 50km/h, affecting travel time.

To ensure traffic order and safety, the Traffic Police Department of Quang Tri Provincial Police has strengthened forces, arranged officers and soldiers at intersections and areas at risk of congestion to regulate and divert vehicles.

Leaders of the Traffic Police Department of Quang Tri Provincial Police said that although the traffic volume increased sharply during the peak days after Tet, thanks to proactive regulation plans from early on, serious congestion has not occurred in the area.
