On March 3, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, Head of the Steering Committee for key projects and important national projects in the field of railways, chaired the 7th meeting of the Steering Committee. The meeting was held directly at the Government headquarters; online with provinces and cities with railway projects passing through.
At the meeting, Mr. Nguyen Cong Hoang - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee reported on the implementation of tasks assigned by the Government in implementing the North-South high-speed railway project section passing through Quang Ngai province.
According to the Pre-feasibility Study Report dossier, the project passing through Quang Ngai province has a route length of 86.3km affecting the area of 16 communes and 3 wards of the province; the total area within the project boundary is 562.4ha.
The total estimated investment of the project section passing through the province is about 11.1 trillion VND. The scale includes 44 bridges, total bridge length 58.3km, accounting for 67.6% of the route length and 4 tunnels, length 10km, accounting for 11.7% of the route length.
Up to now, Quang Ngai province has proactively allocated sufficient resources to carry out site clearance work to ensure completion according to the required schedule. The investor of the site clearance sub-project has coordinated with localities where the project passes through to review relevant data and organize meetings to get people's consensus on the expected location of resettlement areas.
The province plans to build 18 resettlement areas, with an area of nearly 110ha; build 21 reburial areas with a total area of 22.6ha.
Mr. Nguyen Cong Hoang proposed that the Prime Minister and the Ministry of Construction consider agreeing to move the location of Quang Ngai station from Km829+700 to the south to about Km831+400 to be consistent with the approved plan and convenient when implementing urban development tasks according to the direction of public transport development in the vicinity of the station.
Proposing the Government to partially adjust the route direction to limit the impact on newly built residential areas and resettlement areas; historical relics; martyrs' cemeteries, administrative headquarters and works.
