At about 2 am on September 21, a landslide occurred at Km37 National Highway 28B, the section through Dai Ninh Pass, Phan Son commune, Lam Dong province, causing soil and rocks from above to spill onto the road surface.
The landslide location is about 500m from Dai Ninh Hydropower Plant. Soil and rocks cover a part of the road surface, but vehicles can still travel through the remaining lane.
After detecting the incident, some drivers passing by placed warnings, reminded vehicles to reduce speed and reported to the local police.
Phan Son Commune Police then arrived at the scene, organized warnings and regulated traffic through the landslide area.
Until about 8 am on the same day, relevant forces and units were still urgently clearing soil and rocks on the road surface. The handling is to ensure safety for vehicles traveling on National Highway 28B.
National Highway 28B is a traffic route connecting the Mui Ne, Phan Thiet area with Da Lat. The section through Dai Ninh Pass alone is more than 10km long, and landslides often occur when heavy rain lasts.
Currently, National Highway 28B is under construction for upgrading and expansion. Many sections on the route have been asphalted and put into operation.
