Belt 3
Beltway 3 is over 76 km long, passing through Ho Chi Minh City, Binh Duong, Dong Nai and Long An, with a total investment of over VND75,300 billion (phase one). The project is divided into 8 component projects, each locality carries out two projects including construction and site clearance.
Of which, Beltway 3 passing through Ho Chi Minh City, over 47 km long (passing through Thu Duc City, Binh Chanh, Hoc Mon, Cu Chi districts) was just started on June 18 with a total investment of over 41,000 billion VND (construction cost over 22,400 billion VND and nearly 19,000 billion VND for site clearance).
As the starting point of expressways, connecting with radial national highways, Ho Chi Minh City Ring Road 3 plays a very important role in inter-regional connectivity (connecting the Southeast with the Southwest and the trans-Asian corridor), promoting socio-economic development and ensuring national defense and security.

The investment in the Ring Road 3 project with large traffic capacity and high speed aims to create momentum and spillover to promote economic restructuring, socio-economic development in the Southeast region in particular and the whole country in general, contributing to improving the competitiveness of the economy.
With that role and significance, the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Transport assesses that early investment to complete the project is very necessary and urgent in the current period. The Ho Chi Minh City Department of Transport aims to technically open the Ring Road 3 project on April 30, 2025, and complete the entire project in 2026.
Tran Quoc Hoan - Cong Hoa connecting road
The 4km long Tran Quoc Hoan - Cong Hoa connecting road project, located at the gateway to Tan Son Nhat airport, was started at the end of 2022 with a total investment of more than 4,800 billion VND.
Currently, the project is constructing the underpass at the Phan Thuc Duyen - Tran Quoc Hoan intersection. Other packages will be started in the near future when the land is fully handed over.

The city's transport sector aims to complete and put the project into operation by August 2024. In addition to directly connecting T3 terminal, the project also creates a new route to Tan Son Nhat airport, breaking the monopoly of Truong Son road as well as reducing traffic congestion in the area, which has been overloaded for many years.
An Phu Interchange
An Phu Intersection (Thu Duc City) will start construction at the end of 2022 with a total capital of more than 3,400 billion VND.
The project has a 3-storey design, including: a two-way underpass connecting Ho Chi Minh City - Long Thanh - Dau Giay expressway with Mai Chi Tho street; two overpasses, one connecting Mai Chi Tho street with Luong Dinh Cua street via the expressway ramp, one overpass turning right from the expressway ramp through Mai Chi Tho; the ground level is built with a central circular island, a symbolic tower,...

According to the Department of Transport, the project is currently constructing four items: Ba Dat Bridge, Giong Ong To 2 Bridge and two underpasses. The remaining items will be implemented in the fourth quarter of this year. The city's transport sector aims to complete the entire project by April 30, 2025.
An Phu traffic intersection is located right at the eastern gateway of Ho Chi Minh City, directly connecting to the Ho Chi Minh City - Long Thanh - Dau Giay highway.
The completion of the investment and construction of this intersection will contribute to improving traffic capacity, solving traffic congestion; enhancing freight transport capacity, enhancing regional connectivity with Dong Nai and Ba Ria - Vung Tau provinces; especially when Long Thanh International Airport is expected to operate phase one in 2025.
My Thuy Interchange
My Thuy Intersection (Thu Duc City) has a total investment of 1,998 billion VND, implemented in the period of 2016 - 2021.
The project started in 2016 but so far only 6/10 items have been completed, such as: Ky Ha 3 Bridge, 75m long (4 lanes); left-turn underpass from Ring Road 2 to Cat Lai Port, 505m long (2 lanes), overpass on Ring Road 2 (4 lanes), My Thuy 3 Bridge (6 lanes), etc.
The project is currently on hold due to site clearance issues. In August 2022, the Ho Chi Minh City People's Council approved an increase in project capital to VND3,622 billion (an increase of more than VND1,623 billion, nearly doubling).

According to plan, the project will complete compensation and resettlement support in 2023.
After the site is available, the investor will speed up the construction of the remaining items in the fourth quarter of this year, including: an overpass for vehicles turning left from Cat Lai port to Phu My bridge (725 m long with 2 lanes); Ky Ha 4 bridge located on the right turn from Phu My bridge to Cat Lai port (75 m long with 4 lanes).
The entire My Thuy intersection will be completed and put into operation by April 30, 2025, helping to reduce traffic jams and accidents and increase transport capacity in the Cat Lai port area.
Expanding Highway 50
The National Highway 50 expansion project (Binh Chanh district) with a total investment of nearly 1,500 billion VND will start construction at the end of 2022.
Accordingly, National Highway 50 will be expanded to a length of 7 km, 34 m wide, 6 lanes, starting at the intersection of Nguyen Van Linh Street, and ending at the border of Long An.

The Ho Chi Minh City Department of Transport aims to complete and put the project into operation by April 30, 2025, helping to create an axis connecting the gateway of Ho Chi Minh City with Long An and the Western provinces.
In addition, National Highway 50 will connect to the Ben Luc - Long Thanh Expressway and Ho Chi Minh City Ring Road 3. Thus, from the southern gateway of Ho Chi Minh City, people can also go through National Highway 50 to Long Thanh airport, to the Eastern and Western provinces in the Southern Key Economic Zone.
