News from Road Management Area III, National Highway 24 is still operating normally. The construction force has worked through the night to temporarily repair the serious damage on National Highway 24, the section passing through Mang Den commune, Quang Ngai province. At Km112+200, the road surface was raised to nearly 1.2m, with many large cracks and the subsidence continued to be complicated.
Since last night, November 15, the construction force has maintained excavators, trucks and mechanical equipment to operate continuously. The construction unit is pouring, leveling, and creating a site, with the goal of opening a safe traffic lane. Deck systems, signs and reflective wires are installed along the route to proactively warn vehicles to avoid danger when passing through damaged areas.
A representative of Kon Tum Traffic Construction and Management Joint Stock Company said that the unit has arranged workers to be on duty 24/7. Machinery and materials are mobilized to the maximum to initially handle the road surface being piled up and the cracks extending nearly 100m.
According to the Department of Construction of Quang Ngai province, continuous heavy rains in recent days have caused large landslides on the positive slope. The pressure of soil and rock cracks the retaining walls, pushing the asphalt concrete road surface up high, damaging the route structure. The damaged section narrows the road surface, causing vehicles to only travel in one lane, posing a high risk in the context of complicated weather.
The Director of the Department of Construction of Quang Ngai province requested specialized departments to coordinate with consulting units and construction contractors to quickly determine the cause of the incident. The Department also directed the immediate implementation of the plan to build a leveling and create a temporary road surface to maintain traffic, while ensuring safety for people and vehicles.

Previously, the section of Km112+200 National Highway 24 was seriously damaged with a hill road surface of nearly 1.2m high, extending nearly 100m. New cracks continuously appeared at the scene due to the roadbed being affected by heavy rain. The repair work is being urgently deployed to limit congestion and ensure traffic safety.
