According to Lao Dong's investigation, the coaching staff of the Vietnamese golf team has selected a list of 3 male players and 3 female players to participate in ASIAD 20.
With the men's squad, 3 slots to participate in ASIAD 20 were awarded to Nguyen Anh Minh, Le Khanh Hung and Nguyen Tuan Anh.
The ASIAD 20 golf event will be held from September 30 to October 3.
4 sets of medals included in the competition include men's singles, women's singles, men's team, and women's team.
In March this year, the Vietnam Golf Association (VGA) and the coaching staff of the Vietnamese Golf Team announced plans to select forces to prepare for ASIAD 20.
The announcement said that in the first phase, the Vietnamese golf team will select 6 male and 6 female athletes, based on their positions in the World Amateur Golf Rankings (WAGR), according to the principle of considering from high to low rankings.
Time to finalize the WAGR ranking: according to the updated ranking on March 31, 2026. The selection criteria according to WAGR are applied uniformly to both athletes who are qualified by the Vietnam Golf Association and self-sufficient socialized slots (self-sufficient athletes are required to have their names on the WAGR ranking).
The second phase of the selection will determine the official force to participate in ASIAD.
This year, the Vietnamese golf team is planning to go to Japan to compete in ASIAD 20 with socialized funding.
Among them, 4 golfers (3 males, 1 female) participated with socialized funds from VGA and 2 golfers participated with self-sufficient socialized funds (implemented by athlete's family).
