From a purely agricultural province to an industrial capital
On April 29 and 30, 1975, many important areas of Binh Duong province were liberated. After the liberation day, Binh Duong quickly joined the whole country in the process of restoring production and developing the socio-economy. In 1976, Binh Duong and Binh Phuoc merged and established Song Be province.
For about 15 years, the province's economy has been mainly agricultural, with residents making little living from farming and traditional handicrafts such as pottery making, lacquer, etc. Initial traffic had only two main axes: the Saigon River and National Highway 13.
Since the early 90s, especially from the milestone of re-establishing the province on January 1, 1997, Binh Duong has begun to change direction, build industrial park infrastructure, expand regional traffic routes, create open policies... to invite investors to build factories and do business. In the past 2 decades, domestic and foreign investment capital has flowed into Binh Duong, factories have sprung up everywhere, and human resources from the provinces have also been concentrated.
To date, the whole province has 29 industrial parks (27 industrial parks in operation) with a total area of 12,670.5 hectares. The province has 12 industrial clusters with a total area of 790 hectares. In particular, there are typical industrial parks nationwide in terms of building complete, synchronous and modern infrastructure, in terms of speed of investment attraction, production management and environmental protection such as VSIP 1, 2, My Phuoc...
