Infrastructure - a lever to pave the way for development
More than a decade ago, when mentioning Binh Dinh, many people still imagined a peaceful land with rice fields, beaches, and the resounding drum of the Tay Son martial arts land. But now, that land has "changed its skin", becoming one of the bright spots of economic, industrial - service development in the Central Central region.
In 2024, the province's GRDP will reach nearly 5.3 billion USD, with an average income per capita of about 86 million VND. The economic structure has changed significantly, with agriculture - forestry - fishery accounting for only 25%, the rest belonging to industry - construction and services.
The rapid development of Binh Dinh is not only reflected in numbers, but it is clearly present through the occupancy rate of industrial clusters and industrial parks; or the expressways and sidewalks along the coastal areas that were once deserted; and even in the bustling tourist markets with domestic and foreign tourists.
Binh Dinh currently has 7 industrial parks and 46 industrial clusters, with an average occupancy rate of more than 80%. Names such as Becamex - VSIP or Nhon Hoi Economic Zone are now on the "investment map" of many large domestic and foreign corporations.
Most recently, at the 2025 Binh Dinh Provincial Investment Promotion Conference held at the end of March 2025, Binh Dinh issued a memorandum of understanding on investment cooperation, issued investment policy decisions, and investment registration certificates to 62 projects with a total registered capital of more than VND 231,000 billion.
In its development journey, Binh Dinh has always clearly defined the orientation of "infrastructure goes first, economy follows second". In recent years, the province has invested simultaneously in key routes such as the coastal axis, the road from Phu Cat airport to Nhon Hoi Economic Zone, the route connecting Quy Nhon Port - National Highway 1A and the road to major industrial parks... opening up new development space, strongly attracting investors.
From a tourism "star" to the land of intelligence
Not only has Binh Dinh developed strongly in industry, it has also affirmed itself on the Vietnam tourism map. Possessing a beautiful coastline, unique culture, attractive cuisine and many historical relics, Binh Dinh has all the elements to become a top destination.
In 2024, the province welcomed about 9.2 million visitors, with revenue reaching about 25,000 billion VND. And in just the first three months of 2025, the number reached 3.3 million, an increase of more than 20% over the same period. No longer a land only mentioned during the holiday or summer season, Binh Dinh is now a destination for all four seasons.
In the process of moving towards the future, Binh Dinh has been placing technology and innovation at the center of its development strategy. The province will complete digital transformation goals, strongly reform the investment - business environment, becoming an attractive investment destination for large domestic and foreign enterprises.
Binh Dinh clearly defines the goal of having a digital economy account for at least 30% of GRDP by 2030. To realize this goal, the province will focus on developing core technology fields such as artificial intelligence (AI), semiconductor industry, building a solid and synchronous digital government - digital economy - digital society platform. At the same time, implementing the Project "Developing the semiconductor, artificial intelligence and cybersecurity industries in the 2025-2030 period", opening up opportunities for Binh Dinh to rise to become a center for innovation in the Central region.
To maintain development momentum, Binh Dinh has identified three strategic breakthroughs: Infrastructure, digital transformation - green and training high-quality human resources.
Infrastructure is not only about transportation but also includes industry, urban areas and digital infrastructure. The province invests systematically to effectively connect both inside and outside the province, turning seaports and airports into regional logistics units; Digital transformation associated with green transformation is promoted in production, services and management.
Binh Dinh aims for a digital, circular, environmentally friendly economy; Human resources are a long-term foundation. The province is cooperating with universities and businesses to train high-quality technology, tourism and medical human resources - creating conditions to attract and retain talented people.
