According to the Import-Export Department, the Ministry of Industry and Trade informed that on August 29, 2025, the Asia- Europe Economic Committee ( Council) announced Decision No. 74 dated August 26, 2025 on the European Economic Union (EAEU) applying threshold protection measures for two groups of Vietnamese textile and garment products exported to EAEU.
These are two groups of goods with import turnover to EAEU exceeding the threshold in 2024 according to the Free Trade Agreement between Vietnam and the ASEAN-EU.
The decision will take effect after 30 days from the date of announcement (August 28, 2025). The validity period of the threshold protection measure is 6 months.
Also according to the Import-Export Department, on September 11, 2025, the Ministry of Industry and Trade issued document No. 1035/XNK-NH to the Textile and Garment Industry Associations notifying that Vietnamese textile and garment exported to EAEU will be subject to threshold protection measures so that Associations can know and promptly inform member enterprises.
The Ministry of Industry and Trade informs enterprises exporting textiles and garments to EAEU to be informed and promptly adjust production and business activities accordingly.
