On April 23, leaders of Dien Bien Provincial People's Committee said that the Ministry of National Defense had just issued a document responding to the proposal of the Provincial People's Committee, regarding participating in evaluating the dossier requesting the implementation of the Muong Ang wind power plant and Dien Bien Dong wind power plant phase 1.
Regarding the military and defense sectors, the Ministry of National Defense agreed on the investment policy for 2 projects proposed for investment by Vestas Development Company (Denmark).
The Muong Ang wind power plant project is located in the communes of Muong Phang, Na Tau, Muong Ang, Bung Lao, Muong Lan and Pu Nhi; land use scale is about 70.2 ha.
Dien Bien Dong wind power plant phase 1 is located in Bung Lao, Muong Lan, Xa Dung, Muong Luan and Na Son communes; land use scale is about 81.9 ha.
The Ministry of National Defense also proposed that the Provincial People's Committee coordinate with the Ministry of Public Security to review issues of political security and law (if any) related to foreign investors, and take measures to strictly manage the labor force.
Previously (March 11), Dien Bien Provincial People's Committee had a working session with the working delegation of Vestas Development Company to exchange views on development orientations for wind power projects in the locality.
At the working session, Mr. Nguyen Minh Phu - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee requested Vestas Development Company to soon complete the dossier to submit for appraisal and approval of investment policy, and at the same time approve investors for a number of wind power projects in the area.
Dien Bien Dong wind power plant phase 1 with a capacity of 126 MW; Muong Ang wind power plant with a capacity of 108 MW.
