Ca Mau launches 3 wind power projects worth more than 6,300 billion VND

To celebrate the 81st anniversary of National Day September 2nd, Ca Mau launched 3 wind power projects with a total capacity of 170 MW, with an investment capital of more than 6,300 billion VND.

On August 28, in Dong Hai commune, Ca Mau Provincial People's Committee coordinated with investors to organize the launch of a cluster of 3 wind power plant projects with a total capacity of 170 MW, with a total investment of more than 6,300 billion VND. These are projects implemented to celebrate the 81st anniversary of National Day September 2nd.

Dong Hai 1 wind power plant - phase 3 is invested by Bac Phuong Wind Energy Joint Stock Company, with a capacity of 50 MW, investment capital of 2,062 billion VND. The project is expected to produce about 145 million kWh of electricity per year, completed in the first quarter of 2029.

Dong Hai 1 wind power plant - phase 4 invested by Mien Tay Wind Power Joint Stock Company, with a capacity of 50 MW, investment capital of 1,800 billion VND, is expected to produce about 138 million kWh of electricity per year and will be completed in the fourth quarter of 2028.

Dong Hai 13 wind power plant - phase 2 is invested by Dong Hai Ca Mau Energy Joint Stock Company, with a capacity of 70 MW, investment capital of more than 2,476 billion VND, expected to be completed in the fourth quarter of 2028.

The projects are implemented in coastal areas belonging to Dong Hai and Long Dien communes. When completed, the project cluster will supplement clean electricity for the national power system, contributing to exploiting wind energy potential and creating more motivation for economic development in the coastal area of Ca Mau.

Vice Chairman of Ca Mau Provincial People's Committee Huynh Chi Nguyen said that with a long coastline and favorable natural conditions, Ca Mau has great potential for wind power development. The province identifies clean energy development as one of the driving forces to promote green growth, reduce emissions and ensure energy security.

Mr. Huynh Chi Nguyen requested departments, branches and local authorities to continue to accompany and support investors, promptly remove difficulties and obstacles, and create conditions for projects to be implemented on schedule and put into operation soon.

According to the representative of the investor, the units have prepared financial resources, human resources, equipment and technical partners, contractors to implement the next steps. The investors commit to ensuring quality, labor safety, environmental safety and striving to put the plants into commercial operation in the 2027-2028 period.
