Cao Bang - The province is adjusting the economic growth scenario for the last 6 months of the year, striving to achieve the GRDP target of increasing from 10% in 2026.

Cao Bang Provincial People's Committee has just issued a plan to adjust the economic growth scenario for the last 6 months of 2026, setting a target to bring the GRDP growth rate for the whole year to 10% or more after the first 6 months of the year did not meet expectations.

According to estimates by the statistical agency, the GRDP in the first 6 months of Cao Bang province increased by 7.85% compared to the same period, 1.24 percentage points lower than the proposed scenario.

In which, the agriculture, forestry and fishery sector continued to be a bright spot with an increase of 5.66%, exceeding the plan thanks to the high increase in tobacco and timber production.

Meanwhile, industry - construction and services both increased lower than the target, especially the construction sector became a bottleneck when the growth rate was 13 percentage points lower than the scenario.

According to calculations, to complete the GRDP growth target of 10% or more in 2026, the GRDP scale in the last 6 months of the year must reach about 15,108 billion VND, about 396 billion VND higher than the current forecast.

The added value is mainly concentrated in the industrial - construction and service sectors.

On that basis, Cao Bang Provincial People's Committee adjusted the growth scenario for the third and fourth quarters in the direction of accelerating in the industrial - construction sector, especially the construction industry, while promoting the potential of services and agriculture.

Growth momentum is expected to come from accelerating the progress of hydropower projects and restoring mining activities.

Promote disbursement of public investment capital and deploy key infrastructure projects such as Dong Dang - Tra Linh expressway, Bac Kan - Cao Bang expressway, infrastructure of Ban Gioc waterfall tourist area and Chu Trinh industrial park.

To realize the goal, Cao Bang requests departments, branches and localities to focus on removing difficulties for production, accelerating disbursement of public investment, stimulating consumer demand, developing tourism, trade, logistics, and at the same time strengthening budget revenue management and administrative procedure reform.

The Provincial People's Committee determined that completing the 10% growth target is the key task of the last 6 months of the year, linking the responsibility of the head with the implementation results at each agency, unit and locality.
