On June 10, the Department of Science and Technology of Kon Tum province issued a decision to grant a Certificate of the right to use the geographical indication "Ngoc Linh" for the ginseng product of two individuals in Tu Mo Rong district.
Accordingly, Mr. A Sy (residing in Dak Vien village, Ve Xang commune, Tu Mo Rong district) was granted a certificate for 2,500 Ngoc Linh ginseng plants aged 6 years or more. The planting location is at lot 3, compartment 9, sub-compartment 218, Mang Ri commune.
Mr. A Chung (residing in Dak Don village, Mang Ri commune, Tu Mo Rong district) was granted a certificate for 2,000 Ngoc Linh ginseng plants, also aged 6 years or more, at the same location: lot 3, compartment 9, sub-compartment 218, Mang Ri commune.
The granting of the right to use the "Ngoc Linh" geographical indication is carried out for products that fully meet quality standards and clearly verify geographical origin.
Products with geographical indications often have higher economic value because they are recognized by the market for their reputation and quality.
In addition to granting geographicalcation certificates, the People's Committee of Kon Tum province also requires relevant agencies, organizations and individuals to strictly comply with legal regulations on procedures for granting growing area codes.
