On October 27, in Nhan Thang commune (Bac Ninh province), the local government organized the payment of support, compensation, and site clearance (GPMB) to households whose land was recovered to serve the Gia Binh International Airport project.
In this payment period, there are 126 households in Khoi Khe village, Nhan Thang commune. On the first day, 112/126 households completed receiving money with a total support budget of over 20 billion VND. Relevant units such as Nhan Thang Commune People's Committee, Land Fund Development Center and Techcombank closely coordinate and organize the implementation of the disbursement process to ensure publicity, transparency and compliance with regulations.
This result marks an important step forward in site clearance, creating an important premise for Nhan Thang commune to soon complete site clearance for the entire route, serving the Gia Binh International Airport project - a national key project.
The Gia Binh International Airport project has a total area of about 1,959.9 hectares (including 124.7 hectares of phase 1), of which Gia Binh commune has about 888.7 hectares; Nhan Thang has about 17.2 hectares; Luong Tai has about 1,012.7 hectares; Lam Thao has about 41.3 hectares.
According to Plan No. 57 issued by the People's Committee of Bac Ninh province on September 5, 2025, units and localities must complete site clearance for the entire agricultural land area (1,2655.1 ha) of the project before October 30, 2025.
About 40 km from Hanoi, the Gia Binh International Airport project (Bac Ninh) started construction in December 2024.
According to the plan, the airport will be basically completed and initially put into operation from the end of 2026 to serve the 2027 APEC Summit.
By 2050, the airport's capacity will reach about 50 million passengers/year and 2.5 million tons of cargo/year.
