On the afternoon of November 3, floodwaters on the Kien Giang River continued to rise, causing deep flooding on many roads and residential areas in Le Thuy commune (Quang Tri province). In Mai Ha, Phu Tho, Tan Le, Thuong Phong, Thuong Giang, Xuan Hoi villages... water has flooded into houses, many places were flooded nearly 1m, people had to use boats to travel.
According to the Civil Defense Command of Le Thuy commune, by noon of the same day, the whole commune had more than 400 flooded houses and many traffic routes cut off. Households are urgently raising their assets, moving machinery and furniture to safe locations.
In Thuong Giang village, Ms. Le Thi Mai said that floodwaters started to flood into her house early in the morning.
The couple had to raise tables, chairs, beds, and buy more food to reserve. If the water continues to rise, her family will move to the neighbor's high-rise house to temporarily take shelter.



Along the Kien Giang River, many people have taken motorbikes to Kien Giang, Phong Xuan, and Phong Lien bridges to avoid flooding. As for cars, people no longer leave them on the bridge like in previous years but move to higher areas to park them, avoiding traffic obstruction.
According to the forecast of the Quang Tri Provincial Hydrometeorological Station, in the next 6-12 hours, the area will continue to have moderate to heavy rain, some places will have very heavy rain, with common rainfall of 50-100mm, some places over 150mm. The water level of Kien Giang River in Le Thuy is above alert level 3, the risk of flooding continues to expand.

Local authorities have activated the early warning system, regularly broadcasting information through loudspeakers, social networks and community groups for people to proactively respond. All students in the flooded area have been given a day off to ensure safety.
