BIDV Insurance has paid more than 1.4 billion insurance to the family of a customer who died as a result of Typhoon Yagi.

BIDV Insurance Corporation (BIC) has just held a ceremony to pay accident and health insurance benefits - BIC Binh An to relatives of customers who unfortunately died due to drowning in flooded areas - the aftermath of Typhoon Yagi.

The ceremony was attended by Mr. Pham Truong Giang - Director of the State Bank - Phu Tho Province Branch, along with representatives of the customer's family, representatives of BIDV Hung Vuong and BIC leaders.

The customer who received the insurance payment is Mr. N.D.T (born in 1978). Mr. T. is a loyal customer who is borrowing capital at BIDV Hung Vuong. During the loan period, Mr. T. was introduced, consulted and fully explained by BIDV bank staff about the insurance benefits of BIC Binh An product as a tool to protect the family and the customer in unfortunate situations that may happen to the customer such as illness, disease, unexpected accidents. Mr. T. agreed to participate in BIC insurance.

On September 11, 2024, while rescuing property damaged by Typhoon Yagi, Mr. T unfortunately drowned and died.

Immediately after receiving information from the customer's family, despite the difficulties in traffic in the province due to the impact of storm Yagi, BIDV Phu Tho Insurance Company immediately visited and encouraged the customer's family, and actively coordinated with relevant parties to quickly complete the documents, and pay all insurance benefits with the amount of VND 1,401,709,589 to Mr. T's family, including: Insurance participation amount, loan interest support during the waiting period for insurance procedures, and funeral allowance.

In order to share and join hands to support local people who are severely affected by storms and floods, on the same day, BIC donated 30 million VND to the representative of the People's Committee of Dan Thuong Commune, Ha Hoa District, Phu Tho Province to overcome the consequences caused by storm Yagi. BIC hopes that through this activity, it will provide more motivation to help people overcome difficulties, quickly restore their lives and livelihoods after natural disasters, and at the same time spread the spirit of humanity and humane values ​​in society.
