On September 23, the People's Committee of Phu Quoc Special Zone (An Giang) announced that it had issued a notice requesting organizations, individuals, and households to dismantle and relocate billboards with display signs, roofs, fences, and non-business, trade, display goods, install, and place works on the road corridor under state management on DT 9.75 (Duong Dong - Cua Lap - Bai Khem road) in Phu Quoc Special Zone.
In order to speed up site clearance and ensure compliance with the commitments with the Prime Minister and the People's Committee of An Giang province. Recently, the People's Committee of Phu Quoc Special Zone has directed departments, special forces and forces stationed in the area to deploy and promote propaganda, mobilization, education activities for cadres and people to raise awareness of advertising activities, urban discipline, and put advertising activities into order. Overcome the situation of illegal construction not in accordance with regulations and business covering, blocking, encroaching, and occupying sidewalks, causing obstruction, insecurity for traffic participants, and loss of urban beauty.
However, through the current inspection of DT 9.75 road (Duong Dong - Cua Lap - Bai Khem road), the section from Cua Lap intersection to Nguyen Van Cu intersection still has organizations, individuals, and businesses encroaching on the road, sidewalks, building and expanding houses, tents, shops, roofs, advertising signs, billboards, and posters, affecting the travel of traffic participants and losing urban beauty.
In order for the plan to inspect and handle illegal construction, buying and selling, occupying roads, sidewalks, and road corridors in accordance with regulations and restoring urban order to order on civilized routes in the area, the Economic, Infrastructure and Urban Area shall notify organizations, individuals, and households that place billboards, display items in violation of regulations and build works, architectural objects, display goods on the roadway, sidewalks, and in the road corridor (public land for pedestrians) to be responsible for self-dismantling and relocating all of the above works, architectural objects, and goods back to the original state (public land for pedestrians) within 7 days.
After the Notice is issued from September 23, 2025 to September 30, 2025. If organizations, individuals and households do not voluntarily carry out the demolition and relocation within the time limit according to this notice, the Economic, Infrastructure and Urban Area will coordinate with specialized agencies and local working groups to organize the demolition and handling according to the provisions of law. All future complaints will not be considered or resolved by the People's Committee of Phu Quoc Special Zone.
DT 9.75 road acts as the main traffic gateway of the island, connecting Bai Truong, An Thoi areas and especially the event area, serving logistics, transportation and ensuring safety and security for activities within the framework of the 2027 APEC Conference.
In the long term, DT 9.75 Road will become one of the important urban development axes, contributing to the completion of the urban transport network, improving connectivity capacity and promoting socio-economic development for Phu Quoc special zone.
