Dat Thanh Company in Lao Cai fined 320 million VND for environmental violations

Lao Cai - The authorities have fined Dat Thanh Import-Export Trading Company Limited VND320 million for environmental violations.

The Department of Agriculture and Environment of Lao Cai province has just issued a decision to administratively sanction Dat Thanh Import-Export Production Trading Company Limited (Dong Cuong commune, Lao Cai province; with Ms. Kim Thi Thanh Huong as director) for violating regulations on environmental protection.

According to the authorities, this enterprise has implemented the Project of a Factory for the production and processing of cinnamon essential oil, smoke-free coal, wood tablets and rolls of paper to make votive paper in Dong Cuong commune, subject to an Environmental License issued by the Provincial People's Committee, but has not been granted a license.

This behavior violates Point c, Clause 3, Article 14 of Decree 45/2022/ND-CP of the Government on administrative sanctions in the field of environmental protection.

For the above violation, Dat Thanh Company was fined VND320 million and suspended from operation of the waste generating source without an Environmental License for 4.5 months.

The authorities require businesses to strictly comply. In case of non-voluntary implementation, the company will be forced to comply and must pay an additional 0.05% of the late payment fee calculated on the total unpaid fine according to regulations.
