In the days leading up to the 2026 Lunar New Year, in Cho Lach flower village, farmers focused on taking care of, classifying and bringing chrysanthemums to the market. However, erratic weather caused many chrysanthemum areas to bloom early, slowing down consumption.
Attached to growing chrysanthemum mums for many years, Ms. Nguyen Thi Thu said that this crop her family produces about 3,000 pots. Because chrysanthemums bloom early, the selling price currently ranges from 100,000 - 150,000 VND/pair, lower than the same period last year by about 50,000 - 100,000 VND/pair.
According to Ms. Thu, up to this point, the family has consumed about 1,600 pots and is continuing to bring the rest to the market. "Farmers hope that purchasing power will improve soon to consume all the early blooming chrysanthemums," Ms. Thu shared.
Also growing chrysanthemums, Mr. Tran Van Tre said that this Tet crop, his family produced more than 4,000 pots. Thanks to proactive early sales and connection support, to date, he has consumed more than 2,500 pots.
According to Mr. Tre, the remaining chrysanthemums are still being cared for and put out for sale in the coming days. “The family really hopes to continue to receive support to soon consume all the remaining early-blooming chrysanthemums,” Mr. Tre expressed.

Providing information about the general situation, Ms. Nguyen Thi My Van - Standing Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of Cho Lach commune - said that the whole commune has about 1.2 million chrysanthemum pots serving the 2026 Tet market, of which about 300,000 pots bloom early.
According to Ms. Van, up to now, about 200,000 pots have been consumed, and there are still about 100,000 pots that need output support. “The locality will continue to coordinate and connect consumption to support people in the peak days before Tet,” Ms. Van said.
Cho Lach is a key ornamental flower growing area of the Mekong Delta, in which chrysanthemums are the main product every Tet occasion. Faced with the situation that early blooming chrysanthemums still exist, the locality expects to soon remove difficulties and stabilize production for farmers.
