On November 29, information from the People's Committee of Nghe An province said that it had just reported in response to the proposal of Mr. Luong Van Long - Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Chau Hong commune, Quy Hop district on how to handle Chau Hong industrial cluster.
According to the report, in 2012, the People's Committee of Nghe An province approved the Chau Hong industrial cluster in Chau Hong commune, Quy Hop district with an area of 15 hectares. However, 12 years have passed but the land in the industrial cluster is still left fallow, causing land waste.
Mr. Luong Van Long proposed that the Provincial People's Committee direct solutions for implementation.
According to the People's Committee of Nghe An province, Chau Hong industrial cluster was approved by the People's Committee of the province to be added to the Planning of industrial clusters in the province in Decision No. 91 dated January 1, 2007.
However, since then, the planned location of Chau Hong industrial cluster has remained vacant and has not attracted any projects.
Based on the proposal of the People's Committee of Quy Hop district, Chau Hong industrial cluster continues to be included in the industrial cluster development plan under the Nghe An Provincial Planning for the period 2021 - 2030, with a vision to 2050 approved by the Prime Minister in Decision No. 1059 dated September 14, 2023.
Chau Hong Industrial Cluster has been approved by the Provincial People's Committee for detailed construction planning at a scale of 1/1000 in Decision No. 2653 dated July 16, 2012, with a planning area of 15 hectares.
On June 14, 2024, the People's Committee of Quy Hop district issued Official Dispatch No. 1122 requesting to remove Chau Hong industrial cluster from the list of industrial clusters of Nghe An province.
In response to the above content, the Department of Industry and Trade issued Official Dispatch No. 1658 dated July 16, 2024 requesting the People's Committee of Quy Hop district to continue promoting investment in enterprises, cooperatives, and organizations as investors in building infrastructure for Chau Hong industrial cluster.
In case of failure to attract enterprises, organizations, and units to be investors in infrastructure construction, the People's Committee of Quy Hop district is requested to review and report to clarify the specific situation so that the Department of Industry and Trade can coordinate with departments and branches to advise the Provincial People's Committee to remove Chau Hong industrial cluster from the provincial planning in the next adjustment period.
Standing Vice Chairman of Nghe An Provincial People's Committee Le Hong Vinh said: "The province's viewpoint is to manage the planning of industrial parks, industrial clusters and other projects in accordance with the provisions of law. In case the project is ineffective, cannot be implemented, and is prolonged for many years, causing waste of land, it will be reclaimed."
