Recently, according to warning information from the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment, some shipments of exported pepper from Vietnam have been detected to be contaminated with red Sudan. This is an industrial color banned from being used in food.
Regarding this incident, information from the leader of the Department of Agriculture and Environment said that through initial verification, the main cause is that some people store pepper in colored packaging.
Red Sudan is an industrial chemical that is not used in food, so timely recommendations are needed to prevent possible risks.
This includes people using poor quality dried tarpaulins that do not meet food standards in harvesting, leading to the situation of stopping colorants in products. However, the incident was just a small infection phenomenon of a few shipments.
Faced with the above situation, the Department of Agriculture and Environment of Dak Nong province is actively coordinating with the Farmers' Association, Cooperative Union, Provincial Business Association and relevant levels and sectors to inform and propagate to control and prevent the risk of Sudan Red infection in pepper production.
Currently, Dak Nong province is making efforts to improve the quality of food safety for pepper products. Thereby, contributing to protecting the reputation of the Vietnamese pepper industry in the market.
