Bung Thi hot spring is located in Ta Cu Nature Reserve, considered a natural gift given to Tan Thanh commune (Lam Dong province). This place was discovered by French scientist H. Fontaine in.12. Hot water level nearly 900C sprays up from the ground, carrying many minerals that are beneficial to human health.
Currently, Bung Thi has two water pipes, hot and cold, marked by people with iron pipes. At the head of the hot spring, visitors often bring eggs to the boiling, only about 20 minutes are the eggs cooked with the characteristic pink and thick - an experience that is not available in many places. At the head of the stream, two streams merge together to form a warm lake. Visitors can soak their feet and relax in the water to dispel fatigue, before the water continues to flow into a small stream in the lower area of Bung Thi.
At the end of July, Chairman of Lam Dong Provincial People's Committee Ho Van Muoi and leaders of departments and branches visited this hot spring for a field survey. Vice Chairman of Lam Dong Provincial People's Committee - Nguyen Minh said that Bung Thi area is a fairly intact natural forest protected.
Previously, the People's Committee of Binh Thuan province (old) had received many investment proposals from enterprises but had not met the conditions. Currently, there is a large domestic investor that wants to develop a coastal eco-urban tourism complex, including Tau Tau mountain and Bung Thi hot spring.
After the survey, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Ho Van Muoi assessed that the 900C hot water source here is a valuable asset donated by nature. Therefore, the planning of biosphere complexes in the area needs to be carried out cautiously, complying with the law, ensuring both promoting economic potential and preserving the natural environment. He requested departments and branches to raise their responsibility and quickly remove obstacles to soon implement the project.
Ta sao Nature Reserve is not only rich in biodiversity with more than 751 species of plants and 178 species of vertebrate animals, but is also home to many rare species such as Truong Son silver langurs and black-legged patches. This area is classified by the World Wildlife Fund (WWF) as a Truong Son ecological zone - one of the 221 most important ecological zones in the world.
If implemented synchronously, the Tau - Bung Thi - Song Phan super project will awaken the potential of the calm hot water stream, helping the land that is famous for dragon fruit and coastal fisheries to become a resort tourism destination, rich experience.
