On August 19, the Lang Son Provincial Construction Investment Project Management Board held a groundbreaking ceremony for the Lang Son Provincial Sports Complex Project (in the category of Central Stadium and Multi-purpose Gymnasium).
This is a key project, with special significance to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam (September 2, 1945 - September 2, 2025), towards the 18th Lang Son Provincial Party Congress, term 2025 - 2030 and the 14th National Party Congress.
The ceremony was connected online to 33 locations nationwide, broadcast live on VTV1 - Vietnam Television.
On the central side, Mr. Ho An Phong - Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism attended.
According to the report of the Provincial Construction Investment Project Management Board, the Lang Son Provincial Sports Complex is deployed on an area of 28.73 hectares, with 11 items, with a total investment of more than 500 billion VND, divided into two phases.
In phase I, the project will focus on building key items: Real-time 3,000-seat and 1,000-seat mobile multi-purpose gymnasium; Sports training room; Athletes' housing; square; training ground; parking lot; synchronous technical infrastructure. According to the plan, the project will be completed by the end of 2027.

When put into operation, the Sports Complex not only meets the standards for hosting national and regional tournaments but also becomes an architectural highlight, a space for cultural and sports activities for the people, contributing to enhancing the image and position of Lang Son province.
Speaking at the groundbreaking ceremony, Mr. Ho Tien Thieu, Chairman of Lang Son Provincial People's Committee, emphasized that in recent years, the province has paid attention to investing in cultural and sports activities.
However, the system of institutions and sports facilities is still not synchronous, not meeting the requirements of organizing professional tournaments as well as the training and enjoyment needs of the people.
From that practice, the Provincial People's Committee approved the investment policy for the Sports Complex project in the western area of the old Lang Son city (now in Dong Kinh ward).
This is a modern project, synchronized with the central stadium, multi-purpose gymnasium, swimming pool, training ground, training area, landscape trees...
It is expected that the project will become a driving force for the development of the sports movement, improving cultural and spiritual life and affirming Lang Son's position in the process of integration and development.
The Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee requested the Project Management Board, contractors, and consulting units to promote responsibility, organize scientific construction, ensure progress, quality, aesthetics, labor safety, and environmental sanitation.
At the same time, departments, branches, and People's Committees of Dong Kinh Ward must coordinate closely to promptly remove obstacles in the process of site clearance, ensuring site handover on schedule.
