On the morning of July 21, Sejin Heavy Industries Co., Ltd. - a member of Sejin Group (Korea) - held the groundbreaking ceremony of the Sejin Global Factory Project in Ninh Thuy Industrial Park, Dong Ninh Hoa ward.
The project is built on an area of nearly 9ha, with a total estimated investment of 716-1 trillion VND.
When put into operation, the factory will specialize in producing components for the shipbuilding industry, and also play the role of a strategic subcontractor in the supply chain of HD Hyundai Vietnam Shipyard.
Sejin Group currently has 20 member and affiliated companies, operating in the fields of shipbuilding, automobiles and energy in Korea, the United States and Vietnam.
In Khanh Hoa, Sejin has been present since 2012 through Sejin Vinashin Company (SJV), established at HD Hyundai Vietnam Shipyard.
The enterprise has a factory of about 23,000m2, specializing in manufacturing shipbuilding components such as Deck House and Engine Casing, with a capacity of about 7,000 tons of products per year.
Currently, Sejin Vinashin has 3 Korean experts, 41 Vietnamese managers and employees, 111 direct workers and about 320 subcontractors, with a total of nearly 475 workers.
According to a representative of Sejin Group, the implementation of the Sejin Global Factory Project in Ninh Thuy Industrial Park continues to affirm the long-term investment orientation of the enterprise in Vietnam.
The enterprise is committed to closely coordinating with the Khanh Hoa provincial government and related units to implement the project on schedule, ensure quality, comply with legal regulations and soon put the factory into operation.
The investor expects the project to contribute to improving production capacity, expanding the supply chain of the shipbuilding industry in Vietnam, and creating more job opportunities for local workers.
