On June 6, the EPC General Contractor Joint Venture Samsung C&T and Vietnam Machinery Installation Corporation (LILAMA) successfully lit the fire for the first time at Nhon Trach 4 Power Plant.
This is an important milestone, affirming the completion of the construction, installation and trial operation of the factory's main technology equipment systems. This is also the basis for completing the next milestones such as synchronizing and handing over Nhon Trach 4 Power Plant for commercial power generation in December 2025.
Nhon Trach 3 and 4 Power Plants are one of the national key LNG power plant projects, built in Phuoc Khanh Commune, Nhon Trach District, Dong Nai Province with a total capacity of 1,500 MW. The project is invested by Vietnam Oil and Gas Power Corporation (PV Power), implemented by the EPC General Contractor consortium Samsung C&T - Vietnam Machinery Installation Corporation (LILAMA).
After successfully burning the fire for the first time at Nhon Trach 4 Power Plant, the Joint Venture of General Contractors is expected to synchronize the plant and conduct the system's cleaning by the end of June 2025.
Previously, at 10:00 on May 17, 2025, Nhon Trach 3 Power Plant - the first LNG power plant in Vietnam - completed the 24-hour continuous operation technical milestone at the underground load level of the mixed cycle with a maximum load capacity of 812 MW.
