The delegation included Mr. Cao Dat Khoa - Member of EVNNPT Board of Directors, Mr. Hoang Van Tuyen - Deputy General Director of EVNNPT, leaders of the Northern Power Construction Project Management Board (NPMB), specialized departments and contractor representatives.
The project started on August 17, 2025, with EVNNPT as the investor, NPMB managing and operating, and Power Transmission Company 1 receiving operation after completion. The project will build 2 new 500kV lines with a length of 38.3km, from the 500kV Hai Phong Station to the 500kV Thai Binh Station, passing through Hai Phong City and Hung Yen Province.

The progress of steel pole supply has not met requirements
To date, the handover of the site has reached 88/99 foundation locations, of which Hai Phong City has handed over 43/52 locations, Hung Yen 45/47 locations. The remaining two locations are being compensated, expected to be completed in October 2025.
Currently, the units are constructing at 86 foundation locations; 28 locations have completed foundation casting, 9 locations have been installing pillars. However, the contractor's steel pole supply progress is still slow, and the transportation is disjointed, causing many locations to have completed the foundation but no columns to be erected.
Site clearance in some areas of Hai Phong City is still facing difficulties, with 9 locations not yet handed over due to waiting for design adjustments and problems in compensation plans. The recent storms have also affected the construction of the foundation and the transportation of equipment.

Project progress cannot be delayed
The project has special significance in ensuring stable power transmission for the 500kV Hai Phong Station, meeting the load in Hai Phong, Hung Yen and neighboring provinces. The project also contributes to improving the quality of electricity, reducing technical losses and enhancing connectivity and flexibility in the operation of the 500kV power grid in the North.
Contractors are committed to mobilizing maximum resources, closely coordinating with investors and local authorities to speed up compensation, site clearance, and supply of materials and equipment, striving to complete the project in 2025.
At the inspection, Chairman of EVNNPT Board of Directors Nguyen Tuan Tung acknowledged the efforts of NPMB and construction units, and requested to continue to closely direct, mobilize enough human resources, and coordinate with the locality to hand over the entire site in October 2025. NPMB needs to complete the inventory of the route corridor and hand over the cable-stayed corridor before November 15, 2025.
Construction contractors must arrange sufficient equipment and human resources, organize continuous and uninterrupted construction between casting - transportation - pile-force - construction stages. The list of team captains and team leaders needs to be specifically prepared to facilitate operation and progress control.

For the steel pole supply package, EVNNPT leaders requested NPMB to closely monitor the processing, manufacturing and transportation process, ensuring the completion of supply in October 2025. The columns that have been produced but not yet transported must be delivered before November 3, all remaining will be completed before November 15, 2025.
For the intersections of the Lao Cai - Hanoi - Hai Phong railway line, NPMB needs to continue working with the Railway Management Board to promptly determine the relocated power line, and promptly report problems beyond its authority for EVNNPT to direct and resolve.
EVNNPT leaders requested NPMB and units to focus on removing difficulties, maintaining the highest determination to complete the project on schedule, ensuring safety, quality and compliance with technical regulations.
On the same day, the working group led by Mr. Nguyen Tuan Tung also inspected the progress of the Thai Binh 500kV Transformer Station Project. The 500kV Hai Phong - Thai Binh transmission line project is a key project, of great significance in ensuring energy security and developing the regional economy. With the determination of EVNNPT, NPMB and construction units, the project is being accelerated, ensuring quality and safety, striving to complete on schedule.
