Nearly 100 golfers attend the Overseas Vietnamese Golf Tournament

Nearly 100 golfers will participate in the 7th Overseas Vietnamese Golf Tournament held in Vietnam from January 9-11, 2025.

The State Committee for Overseas Vietnamese (Ministry of Foreign Affairs) in coordination with the Overseas Vietnamese Golf Association (OVGA), the Overseas Vietnamese Golf Association in Europe, Vinpearl Golf and Dragon Hill Golf Course organized the 7th Overseas Vietnamese Golf Tournament.

To date, the 7th Overseas Vietnamese Golf Tournament has attracted nearly 100 delegates from 16 countries and territories around the world, with a competition format of 4 rounds, 72 holes, in 3 days (from January 9-11, 2025) at Dragon Hill Golf Course and Vinpearl Hai Phong. This is also the tournament to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the establishment of OVGA.

Mr. Nguyen Manh Dong, Deputy Chairman of the State Committee for Overseas Vietnamese, Head of the Organizing Committee of the Award, said that in recent years, the Vietnamese community abroad has grown stronger and more mature, present in all political, economic, cultural and social life, and has a voice and great influence in over 130 countries and territories around the world.

The work of strengthening national unity has had many breakthrough changes through activities organized by the State Committee for Overseas Vietnamese, creating more confidence and excitement, strengthening the connection between overseas Vietnamese and the country.

Mr. Nguyen Manh Dong said that the Overseas Vietnamese Golf Tournament has been held since 2015, with the desire to create a playground for solidarity, gathering all overseas Vietnamese who are passionate about golf; thereby, expanding and enriching the forms of connecting the overseas Vietnamese community around the world.

"This is not only a sports activity but also contributes to connecting and strengthening the solidarity of the Vietnamese community abroad around the world," said Mr. Nguyen Manh Dong, noting that this is the opening activity of the State Committee for Overseas Vietnamese in 2025. This will be followed by the Homeland Spring Program 2025, which will take place from January 18-21, 2025 (ie December 19-22, Giap Thin year), in the capital Hanoi with the theme "Vietnam - Rising in the new era".

Mr. Tran Tri Tue, Chairman of OVGA, shared that the organization of the 7th Tournament on the occasion of the 10th Anniversary of OVGA is very meaningful for overseas golfers. In addition to participating in the Tournament, golfers can return to their homeland to live in the atmosphere of the traditional New Year. The 10-year journey of the Tournament has also shown its connection and spread its appeal.

The Overseas Vietnamese Golf Tournament is an annual activity organized by the State Committee for Overseas Vietnamese (Ministry of Foreign Affairs) in coordination with the Overseas Vietnamese Golf Association and related units. Over the past 10 years, the tournament has made a good impression on the overseas Vietnamese community, especially those who are passionate about golf.
