Leaving the fragmented approach, Ms. Nguyen Thi Ninh's family (Tong San village, Coc San commune) chose a more methodical direction with a integrated economic model.
Starting from traditional agricultural production, she boldly renovated more than 2,000m2 of ponds to raise freshwater fish from 2013, while taking advantage of hill garden land to grow cinnamon, raise chickens and grow fruit trees.
In the early days, I was also very unfamiliar, I both worked and studied through books, newspapers, television, and then visited models in the area. Sometimes the fish grew slowly, the output was unstable, but I didn't give up," Ms. Ninh shared.

After 4 years of accumulating experience, by 2017, her family expanded the farming area to about 7,000m2 with 10 ponds, focusing on raising traditional fish such as grass carp and carp. Each year, the model supplies about 10 tons of commercial fish to the market.
Not stopping there, realizing that the demand for seeds was increasing, Ms. Ninh switched to producing seed fish, especially fragrant carp.
Thanks to technical proactiveness, each year, the family supplies from 300,000 to 500,000 fish fry, bringing a more stable source of income compared to simple commercial farming.

In parallel with raising fish, her family has developed hill chicken farming. From a few dozen initial chickens, to date, she maintains a scale of about 500 commercial chickens and 200-300 laying hens.
According to Ms. Ninh, the combined model helps to make good use of the area, reduce risks and increase economic efficiency.
A resident in Tong Sanh village said: "Ms. Ninh's family model is very methodical, from raising fish to raising chickens, there is a stable output. Many households in the village have come to learn and follow.

Representatives of Coc San Commune People's Committee assessed that Ms. Ninh's family's integrated economic model is a direction suitable for local conditions.
The transition from small-scale production to integrated models has helped increase value on the same land area. The commune is encouraging the replication of such models to increase people's income," this person said.
Currently, each year, Ms. Ninh's family's model generates revenue of about 700-800 million VND, after deducting expenses, profit reaches over 200 million VND.

Not only improving family life, this is also proof of the proactiveness, dare to think, dare to do of farmers in economic development in the locality.
From a purely agricultural household, Ms. Ninh's family has risen to get rich right on their homeland, contributing to spreading the spirit of innovation in agricultural production in Coc San.
