On July 16, Gia Lai Provincial People's Committee said that it had assigned the Provincial Police to promptly detect, investigate, and strictly handle fraudulent acts in the use of planting area codes, packaging facility codes, and other violations of the law.
According to the Provincial People's Committee, the situation of using planting area codes not in accordance with regulations, collecting agricultural products outside the area that has been granted codes still poses a potential risk, affecting the reputation and brand of the province's agricultural products, especially for large-value export orders.
Gia Lai currently has many businesses purchasing and exporting agricultural products with large value. Registering planting area codes helps facilitate traceability, meeting the strict regulations and technical standards of the import market.
The provincial government also requests to raise awareness of people, businesses and cooperatives about the role and meaning of planting area codes, packaging facility codes and traceability work.

At the same time, relevant units are assigned to review and develop plans to develop planting area codes, packaging facility codes associated with market demand and key industries of the province.
Thereby, gradually forming a professional production and business agriculture with a clear traceability system, ensuring food safety and hygiene; building sustainable production linkage chains, improving the value of key agricultural products such as coffee, durian, passion fruit, pepper, rubber and industrial wood.
In the first 6 months of 2026, the Department of Crop Production and Plant Protection (Ministry of Agriculture and Environment) and competent agencies have issued 90 more export planting area codes, raising the total number of planting area codes in Gia Lai to 400, with a total area of more than 12, 162 ha.
Including 55 domestic growing area codes and 345 export growing area codes, with an area of more than 11,649 hectares, concentrated in crops such as coffee, durian, banana, passion fruit, dragon fruit and chili.
This is considered an important step forward for Gia Lai's agricultural sector in standardizing production processes according to high quality standards, meeting the requirements of export markets such as China, Korea, Japan, Australia and New Zealand.
