According to Lao Dong at the headquarters of Saigon Jewelry Company SJC (HCMC), the number of people coming to trade is still bustling in the area selling plain gold rings and gold bars.
Present at the store since early afternoon, Mr. Dang Van Huy (living in Khanh Hoi ward) shared: "I chose to buy gold at this time because I was worried that the price would increase in the near future. Up to now, gold has always been a safe savings channel for me.

Similarly, Ms. Tran Thi Huyen (living in Xuan Hoa ward) said that she had been at the store for nearly an hour waiting for her turn to make a transaction. "I want to buy 1.5 taels of gold but the shop only sells 1 tael. The price of gold has fluctuated strongly in recent times, so we should take advantage of buying while it is still at an acceptable level" - Ms. Huyen shared.

At Mi Hong gold and silver shop, selling pressure continues to overwhelm buying pressure. At this store, the price of SJC gold bars is 122.6 million VND/tael and 123.8 million VND/tael for selling, gold rings are 117.5 - 119.0 million VND/tael (buy - sell).
Many people said that although the price of gold rings and gold bars has been continuously increasing, buying is not easy, due to limited supply. Not all stores have gold available for sale, some places even only sell in limited quantity.
At 3:00 p.m. on August 5 in Ho Chi Minh City, the price of SJC gold bars was listed by Saigon Jewelry Company SJC and DOJI Group at VND 122.2-123.8 million/tael (buy in - sell out).
The price of gold rings at DOJI is listed at 117.5-120.0 million VND/tael (buy in - sell out). Saigon Jewelry Company SJC listed 116.8-111.3 million VND/tael (buy in - sell out).
Compared to August 4, domestic gold bar prices have increased by 500,000 VND/tael in both directions, 200,000 VND from the historical peak on April 22.
