On March 9, according to records, along with the increase in gasoline and oil prices in recent days, the construction material price market in Dak Lak province continuously fluctuated.
Mr. Vo Thanh Vy - Director of IKIBMT Interior Design and Construction Co., Ltd. (Dak Lak) - said that the unit specializes in receiving package house construction for households. Before the time when gasoline and oil prices increased sharply, businesses contracted about 6.5 million VND/m2 of construction area.
However, after gasoline prices increased, many materials such as aluminum, glass... have increased by more than 10%. Therefore, the package house construction price is currently increasing to about 7-7.5 million VND/m2.
For previously signed contracts, businesses must accept reduced profits, even break-even to maintain prestige with customers. For newly signed contracts, customers are forced to accept the price level according to the time and increased material costs.
Due to increasingly strict management regulations, businesses when signing package construction contracts must also issue full invoices according to regulations to avoid risks when tax authorities inspect.

According to Mr. Vy, if gasoline and oil prices continue to fluctuate, businesses in the design and construction sectors are forced to find ways to adapt such as strengthening linkages, reducing intermediaries and prioritizing the purchase of materials from reputable and long-term partners to reduce costs.
Businesses also need to maintain prestige with customers, not take advantage of market fluctuations to increase prices unreasonably. Only then can they maintain operations and overcome this difficult period," Mr. Vy said.
In fact, many people are also affected by the increase in material prices. Mr. T.T. B (resident of Buon Ma Thuot ward) has just completed a 2-story house with an area of about 130m2 with a cost of about 1 billion VND (excluding furniture). According to Mr. B, if building a house at this time, the cost may increase by about 100 million VND due to fluctuating material prices.
Not only the above case, many businesses designing and building houses and civil works in the province also face similar difficulties. Depending on their financial capacity, each unit chooses a different direction to cope with the escalating gasoline and oil prices.
Mr. D. T - director of a construction company in Thanh Nhat ward (Dak Lak) - said that at this time, the unit is not in a hurry to receive large projects but focuses on completing unfinished projects. At the same time, businesses only receive small or medium-sized projects to limit risks and be proactive in capital sources.
Faced with the above situation, the Department of Construction of Dak Lak province has requested the People's Committees of communes and wards to strictly manage the prices of construction materials according to the regulations of the Provincial People's Committee. In which, focus on announcing prices periodically by month, quarter and adjusting them promptly when the market fluctuates.
These data will be the basis for the Department of Construction to update and announce prices of materials and building materials close to the actual market in the locality, ensuring publicity and transparency.
