World oil prices today
World gasoline and oil prices reversed to increase in the first trading session of the week. At 7:54 am (Vietnam time), WTI oil was traded at 99.42 USD/barrel, up 4 USD/barrel, equivalent to an increase of 4.19%. WTI oil closed the previous trading session at 95.42 USD/barrel and opened today's session at 98.19 USD/barrel.
Meanwhile, Brent oil price was at 104.99 USD/barrel, up 3.7 USD/barrel, equivalent to an increase of 3.65%. In the previous session, Brent oil closed at 101.29 USD/barrel and opened today's session at 104.15 USD/barrel.
According to analysts, gasoline prices rebounded after the US and Iran failed to reach a consensus on the peace proposal put forward by Washington. Meanwhile, the Strait of Hormuz is largely still blocked, causing global energy supplies to continue to be under pressure.
The US said that its forces attacked military targets in Iran after Tehran fired on three destroyers in the Strait of Hormuz. However, US officials affirmed that they are not seeking to escalate tensions.
The oil market has continuously fluctuated strongly in the past time between the expectation of early cooling down of the conflict and the risk of further escalation of tensions. Experts believe that the market is in a state of "barreling", as the prospect of negotiations between the US and Iran is still maintained, but the risk of a new conflict outbreak still exists.
The International Energy Agency (IEA) warned that the conflict is currently disrupting about 14 million barrels of oil/day from global supply.
The prospect of oil supply from the Gulf region, global fuel inventory developments as well as sanctions against Iran will continue to be factors strongly impacting oil prices in the coming time.

The retail price of gasoline and oil in the country mentioned above was adjusted by the inter-ministry of Industry and Trade - Finance from 3 pm on May 7.
