World oil prices today
World gasoline and oil prices reversed and increased sharply in the first session of the week. At 7:57 am (Vietnam time), WTI oil price was at 89.33 USD/barrel, up 1.97 USD/barrel, equivalent to an increase of 2.26%. WTI oil closed the previous session at 87.36 USD/barrel and opened today's session at 88.71 USD/barrel.
Brent oil price was at 93 USD/barrel, up 0.95 USD/barrel, equivalent to an increase of 1.03%. Brent oil closed the previous session at 92.05 USD/barrel and opened today's session at 92.53 USD/barrel.
According to analysts, oil prices rose sharply in the first session of the week after Israel ordered the military to expand its military campaign deeper into Lebanese territory targeting Iranian-backed Hezbollah forces, despite the ceasefire announced more than six weeks ago.
This escalating development occurred just days after peace talks between Israel and Lebanon organized by the US in Washington on May 29, thereby reducing expectations of the possibility of the US and Iran soon reaching an agreement to extend the ceasefire.
The conflict between Israel and Lebanon is considered one of the most notable widespread fronts from the confrontation with Iran. Fighting broke out in early March when Hezbollah launched rockets and drones across the border to support Tehran. Although the two sides reached a ceasefire in mid-April, retaliatory attacks continued.
US President Donald Trump said on May 29 that he would soon make a decision on the proposal to extend the ceasefire with Iran announced in early April. If approved, this agreement will create more time for the parties to negotiate a long-term solution to end the conflict and resolve disagreements related to Iran's nuclear program.

The retail price of domestic gasoline and oil mentioned above was adjusted by the inter-Ministry of Industry and Trade - Finance from 3 pm on May 28. Accordingly, the price of E5RON92 gasoline decreased by 1,082 VND/liter; RON95 gasoline decreased by 1,395 VND/liter; diesel oil 0.05S decreased by 1,110 VND/liter; mazut oil decreased by 1,041 VND/kg.
