World oil price today
World oil prices today decreased slightly at the beginning of the session, then reversed to increase. At 10:52, WTI crude oil was at 67.51 USD/barrel, up 0.14 USD/barrel, equivalent to an increase of 0.21%. WTI crude oil closed the previous trading session at 67.37 USD/barrel, opening today's session at 67.24 USD/barrel.
Brent oil was at 71.24 USD/barrel, up 0.18 USD/barrel, equivalent to an increase of 0.25%. Brent oil closed the previous trading session at 71.07 USD/barrel and opened today's session at 70.97 USD/barrel.
Today's gasoline prices continue to increase, although there were times when the first session recorded a slight decrease, they quickly recovered and rebounded. In the previous session (17.), Brent and WTI oil prices increased by 0.7% and 0.6%, respectively.
According to analysts, oil prices are driven by a combination of many geopolitical and economic factors.
In particular, US President Donald Trump said he would hold Iran accountable for any attack by Houthi forces in Yemen that has increased tensions in the Middle East. This is a geopolitical hot spot that has a great impact on global oil supply, causing many concerns about the risk of supply disruption, thereby pushing oil prices up.
In China, recovering consumer demand is an optimistic signal for crude oil imports, especially as travel demand during the holiday season increases.
In addition, the weakening of the USD also contributed to supporting oil prices. The greenback depreciated as investors worried about the negative impact of the protectionist trade policies that the US President is pursuing.
