World oil price today
World oil prices today increased simultaneously. At 12:31, WTI crude oil was at 67.28 USD/barrel, up 0.37 USD/barrel, equivalent to an increase of 0.55%. WTI crude oil closed the previous trading session at 66.91 USD/barrel, opening today's session at 67.02 USD/barrel.
Brent oil was at 71.17 USD/barrel, up 0.39 USD/barrel, equivalent to an increase of 0.55%. Brent oil closed the previous trading session at 70.78 USD/barrel and opened today's session at 70.91 USD/barrel.
Thus, world oil prices reversed and increased from the end of yesterday's session. At the end of the trading session on March 19, Brent and WTI oil prices increased by 0.31% and 0.39%, respectively. The increase continued in this morning's session.
Oil prices increased after the latest data from the US Energy Information Administration (EIA) showed that in the week ended March 14, US crude oil inventories unexpectedly increased sharply by 1.7 million barrels, to 437 million barrels - more than 3 times higher than the analysts' previous forecast of an increase of 512,000 barrels.
Meanwhile, inventories of gasoline and distillate products have decreased simultaneously. Gasoline inventories have decreased by about 530,000 barrels to 240.6 million barrels, much lower than the expected decrease of 2.2 million barrels.
Inventories of distillate products, including diesel and heating oil, also decreased sharply by 2.8 million barrels, down to 114.8 million barrels - far exceeding the experts' forecast of a decrease of 300,000 barrels.
Domestic gasoline prices today
On March 20, retail gasoline prices according to the price list announced by Petrolimex in regions 1 and 2 (46 provinces and cities are applying) are as follows:

The above domestic retail price of gasoline and oil was adjusted by the Ministry of Finance - Industry and Trade in the price management session on the afternoon of March 13, 2025. Accordingly, gasoline prices have decreased sharply.
E5 RON 92 gasoline price decreased by 680 VND/liter, RON 95-III gasoline decreased by 753 VND/liter, kerosene decreased by 483 VND/liter, diesel decreased by 435 VND/liter, mazut decreased by 155 VND/kg.

Forecast of domestic gasoline prices in the coming period
According to a representative of a petroleum business, domestic petroleum prices will fluctuate according to the world petroleum situation. According to current market developments, it is forecasted that in the price adjustment period this afternoon, gasoline prices may increase.
In particular, the price of RON 95 - III gasoline is forecast to increase by about 450 VND/liter; E5 gasoline increases by about 410 VND/liter; Diesel increases by about 10 VND/liter or unchanged.
