World oil prices today
World gasoline and oil prices recorded a strong weekly increase. At the end of a trading week, WTI crude oil was at 90.40 USD/barrel last weekend, increasing to 101.94 USD/barrel this weekend. Overall last week, WTI oil increased by 11.54 USD/barrel, equivalent to an increase of 12.76% compared to the previous week.
Brent oil was at 105.33 USD/barrel last weekend, up to 108.17 USD/barrel this weekend. Overall last week, Brent oil increased by 2.84 USD/barrel, equivalent to an increase of 2.7% compared to the previous week.
According to analysts, world oil prices rose sharply last week as peace talks between the US and Iran continued to fall into deadlock, while transportation through the Strait of Hormuz remained limited, causing global oil supplies to remain tight.
Prolonged concerns about the risk of supply disruptions due to the closed Hormuz Strait have overshadowed the impact from the information that the United Arab Emirates (UAE) has left OPEC and the OPEC+ alliance.
The oil market has experienced a period of very strong fluctuations since the conflict in the Middle East broke out at the end of February 2026, oil prices have increased by about 90% under pressure from tightened supply due to the closing of the Hormuz Strait.
