World oil prices today
World gasoline and oil prices continue to fluctuate significantly. At the end of yesterday's trading session (September 2), WTI and Brent oil prices increased by 0.9% and 1% respectively.
By this morning's session, the two oil commodities fluctuated in opposite directions. At 8:31 am (Vietnam time), WTI oil price was at 90.85 USD/barrel, down 0.16 USD/barrel, equivalent to a decrease of 0.18%. WTI oil price closed the previous trading session at 91.01 USD/barrel, and opened today's session at 90.71 USD/barrel.
Brent oil was at 95.32 USD/barrel, up 0.07 USD/barrel, equivalent to an increase of 0.07%. Brent oil closed the previous trading session at 95.25 USD/barrel, and opened today's session at 95.24 USD/barrel.
World oil prices continued the upward trend in Wednesday's session after hitting their highest level in more than a month. The market is struggling as investors consider the risk of supply disruptions due to new attacks between the US and Iran with signs that crude oil continues to be released to the market.
The US and Iran have returned to a state of military confrontation after the most intense clashes in weeks. Washington also warned that it could launch attacks that cause more severe damage to Iran.
Meanwhile, the Iranian Islamic Revolutionary Guards warned that US attacks would further restrict traffic through the Strait of Hormuz.
The Strait of Hormuz is a strategic shipping route, which used to transport about 1/5 of global oil consumption before the conflict broke out. Currently, the operation of commercial ships through this route has been blocked by Iran, increasing concerns about the risk of disruption of oil supply from the region.
