On July 14, at the press conference to inform about the 2025 Investment Promotion Conference at the 3rd Session of the APEC Business Advisory Council (ABAC 3), the Organizing Committee informed that Hai Phong is expected to award investment certificates to 32 projects and 7 memorandums of understanding, with a total committed capital of more than 15.6 billion USD.
With the theme "Hai Phong - a strategic destination for the new era", the event was held at 2 locations: the City Conference and Exhibition Center (Bac Song Cam New Urban Area) and Pullman Hotel.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Bich Dung, Deputy Head of the Hai Phong Economic Zone Management Board, said: The ABAC 3 session in Hai Phong gathered more than 1,000 delegates who are leaders of the Party, State; central ministries, branches; city. Including about 250 international delegates, including ABAC members from 21 APEC economies, leaders of multinational corporations, financial institutions, research and innovation centers and international organizations; Ambassadors from leading economies such as the United States, Germany, South Korea, Singapore, Japan, etc.

This is the largest investment promotion conference in Hai Phong to date. In particular, high-quality investors, multinational corporations, large corporations of economies around the world to attract investment in the fields of high-tech manufacturing, clean technology, such as chip manufacturing, semiconductors, information technology, digital technology. These projects are expected to create widespread impacts, shaping the city's economic future" - Mr. Le Trung Kien said.
According to Mr. Kien, this is also an opportunity to promote Hai Phong's outstanding investment potential. The introduction of a favorable investment environment and preferential policies of the city has impressed and attracted the attention of the APEC business community. At the same time, introduce key projects and development orientations calling for investment in the city such as developing a modern seaport system, modern logistics, building a Southern Coastal Economic Zone (scale of about 20,000 hectares with a high-tech industrial orientation, modern logistics, smart cities, eco-tourism; New-generation Free Trade Zone...) and promote sustainable green industry.
The event also created a forum for meetings and sharing between international enterprises (especially ABAC delegates) and Vietnamese enterprises; strengthening network connections, establishing partnerships, and expanding markets for local enterprises.
