The Ho Chi Minh City Police Investigation Agency has just temporarily detained Vo Thi Ngoc Ngan (DJ Ngan 98) on charges of "producing and trading counterfeit food".
The case has revealed a network of businesses directly related to Ngan 98's business activities with the common characteristic of rapid fluctuations in charter capital, ownership structure and senior personnel.
Accordingly, the legal entity playing a central role is ZUBU Trading and Service Company Limited, a legal entity said to play a major role in the production and distribution of weight loss products. Although not directly named, Vo Thi Ngoc Ngan is identified as the person who actually runs all activities and is the main beneficiary.
ZUBU was established in May 2021, with an initial charter capital of VND 200 million, with Ngan 98's biological mother as Director. After just over a year, by October 2022, the company increased its capital to 3 billion VND, 15 times higher than at the beginning. This enterprise has changed its legal representative, owner many times and moved its headquarters from Binh Dinh to Ho Chi Minh City.
In 2024, the role of business representative was at one point transferred to Mr. Le Trong Khanh (born in 1994), however, after that, Ms. Tran Thi Thanh, Ngan's mother, still had the name.
In September 2025, the business owner, Director and legal representative of Zubu Company transferred to Ms. Tran Thi Ngoc Bich (born in 1986).
According to the investigation agency, ZUBU is used as a distribution hub for weight loss products such as Super Detox X3, X7, X100 and unlicensed "collagen vegetables". This activity is said to bring in hundreds of billions of VND in revenue in the period of 2023-2024.
In addition to ZUBU, the business ecosystem associated with Ngan 98 also has other legal entities.
Accordingly, Ngan 98 Trading and Service Company Limited, established in October 2023, owned by Vo Thi Ngoc Ngan with a charter capital of 1 billion VND, mainly operating in the food wholesale industry. In March 2024, the position of director and legal representative was transferred from Mr. Ma Tuan Vu to Ms. Tran Thi Nhat Le. Currently, this enterprise is temporarily suspended.
