Recorded on October 19, at flower markets in Ho Chi Minh City, many types of fresh flowers such as roses, tulips, sunflowers, hydrangeas... were displayed in attractive locations and were chosen by many people.
The price of flowers increased by 10-15% compared to last year, of which roses are still the most popular flower, priced at 25,000 - 30,000 VND/flower, hydrangeas are priced at 15,000 - 20,000 VND/flower... However, purchasing power at this time is still quite slow.
"This year, October 20th falls on a weekend, but the number of customers ordering flowers has not increased all week. The price of imported flowers is high, so I only import enough to sell," said Ms. Le Cam Nhung, owner of a flower shop on 3/2 Street, District 10.
To increase customers, many stores have launched many new and beautiful flower decoration models such as flowers arranged in glass baskets, mica lotus flower baskets...
"Every year, I have to look for new ways to arrange flowers to attract customers. This year, our shop has added a new model of succulent flower baskets, succulents arranged in mica boxes... which also received a lot of attention from customers" - Ms. Ngoc Oanh, owner of a fresh flower shop (Go Vap district), shared.
Mr. Quoc Trung - a salesman at Ho Thi Ky flower market (District 10) - said: "Customers are tightening their spending, the number of pre-orders has decreased by 50-60% compared to previous years. The number of customers coming to the market to buy flowers has also decreased a lot, so the atmosphere is less bustling."
According to traders, this year, roses in the North are quite rare because of the previous storms and floods, and there is no supply. Flowers from Da Lat and neighboring provinces and cities are abundant, but the import price is high.
