The above content was informed at the Workshop " markete diversification strategy: From risk to opportunity" held on September 5 at the Saigon Exhibition and Convention Center (SECC), Ho Chi Minh City organized by the Ministry of Industry and Trade in coordination with the People's Committee of Ho Chi Minh City.
According to Mr. Ta Hoang Linh - Director of the Department of Foreign Market Development (Ministry of Industry and Trade), Vietnam has implemented a strategy of diversifying markets, diversifying products, and diversifying distribution channels to maintain and develop its position in international trade.
"The Ministry of Industry and Trade has coordinated with ministries, branches, localities, industry associations, domestic and foreign business associations, and international distribution channels to promptly have solutions to support Vietnamese enterprises to remove immediate difficulties and long-term development orientations to adapt to market fluctuations. Vietnamese enterprises have also flexibly responded and made efforts to develop to be able to maintain and expand export markets even during the most difficult market times" - Mr. Ta Hoang Linh informed
According to Mr. Ta Hoang Linh - one of the activities that is assessed to have brought positive results in expanding the export market for the Vietnamese business community is the "Connecting international goods supply chains - Viet Nam International Sourcing" event series & Export Forum organized by the Ministry of Industry and Trade in coordination with the People's Committee of Ho Chi Minh City from 2023 to present.
With the participation of more than 60 Trading Deals and Trading branches around the world, Viet Nam International Sourcing 2025 will welcome more than 450 purchasing groups from 60 countries and territories coming to Vietnam to find supply of goods.
Through the exhibition activities within the framework of Viet Nam International Sourcing, international purchasing groups will be able to explore more than 12,000 products belonging to 4 product groups at 500 booths of more than 400 Vietnamese enterprises, from agricultural products, beverages, processed foods to consumer industrial products such as textiles, footwear, wooden furniture, furniture, packaging and the group of supporting industrial products, etc.
In reality, businesses will face risks when relying only on some traditional markets. Diversifying export markets has become an urgent requirement, and that is still the goal that Vietnam International Sourcing & Export Forum 2025 is aiming for and is why the Organizing Committee of the event series has developed the content of the Workshop " mark Diversification Strategy: from risks to opportunities" focusing on some potential export markets.
In addition to international purchasing groups from traditional markets such as the United States, the European Union, Japan, and South Korea, VIS 2025 is expected to welcome a large number of purchasing groups from emerging potential regions such as the Middle East, the United States of America and Eastern European countries.
This geographical diversity opens up opportunities for Vietnamese enterprises to effectively exploit the 17 Free Trade Agreements that Vietnam has signed, access new markets, reduce risks due to dependence on certain regions, and at the same time expand strategic vision in export activities.
