On February 21, the People's Committee of Hue City and Vingroup Corporation signed a memorandum of understanding on comprehensive cooperation on green transformation, digital transformation, towards sustainable development and in response to the Government's commitment to reduce net emissions to zero by 2050.
According to the agreement, the two sides will jointly develop a green transformation and green growth program for the period 2025 - 2030, focusing on areas such as green tourism, green industry, green agriculture, green urban infrastructure, green transport and green lifestyle.
In the field of transportation, the People's Committee of Hue City and Vingroup launched the movement "Intense Vietnamese spirit - For a Green future", promoting the use of electric vehicles throughout the city. Local authorities will have policies to support people, civil servants, and state-owned enterprises to buy or rent VinFast electric cars, using SM Green electric taxi service. At the same time, the two sides will study the implementation of electric buses in accordance with the actual situation and the Government's green energy conversion roadmap.
The People's Committee of Hue City will also support the planning and introduction of charging station installation locations for V-Green Company, and at the same time study and deploy a mechanism to support the development of charging station infrastructure throughout the city.
In addition, the two sides will cooperate in developing green industrial parks, carbon credit projects, digital transformation, cultural preservation, healthcare, green infrastructure, investment attraction and raising public awareness.
Speaking at the signing ceremony, Chairman of Hue City People's Committee Nguyen Van Phuong emphasized that Vingroup is a pioneer in green transformation with the VinFast electric vehicle ecosystem. He affirmed that this cooperation will create conditions for Hue to lead in green transformation, digital transformation and sustainable development.
Vingroup Vice President Le Thi Thu Thuy said that this comprehensive cooperation agreement marks an important milestone, opening up opportunities for extensive cooperation between Hue and Vingroup. She expressed her desire to accompany the city in researching and implementing green transformation solutions, improving the quality of life and promoting the local economy.
The cooperation agreement between the People's Committee of Hue City and Vingroup is expected to accelerate the green transformation process in many fields, contributing to improving the quality of life of people and towards a sustainable development future. Previously, Vingroup signed similar cooperation agreements with the provinces of Binh Dinh, Vinh Phuc, Thai Nguyen and many large enterprises such as Viettel, FPT, VinaChem, contributing to the implementation of the sustainable development goal and reducing net emissions to zero by 2050.
