Groundbreaking ceremony for 1,900 billion VND logistics complex in Hung Yen

Hung Yen - July 24, DHL Supply Chain started construction of DHL North Logistics Campus Logistics Complex in Hung Yen province with a total investment of 1.9 trillion VND.

The project is built in Yen My II Industrial Park, Hung Yen province, with a direct connection to the Hanoi - Hai Phong expressway, convenient for travel to Noi Bai International Airport, Hanoi center and Hai Phong Port.

With a total investment of 1,900 billion VND, DHL North Logistics Campus is expected to become an important logistics hub, serving domestic distribution and international trade activities, while improving supply chain connectivity in the region.

The project is located in a strongly developed industrial corridor of Hung Yen, which concentrates many businesses in the fields of electronics, industrial production, automobiles and consumer goods. According to DHL, the investment is implemented in the context of Vietnam continuing to affirm its role as an important link in the global supply and production chain.

According to the plan, the complex has a total area of more than 82,500 m2 including four building blocks. Phase 1 is expected to be completed in the first half of 2027, putting into operation about 41,180 m2 of Grade A warehouse on two building blocks. Phase 2 is expected to be implemented in the second half of 2028.

The project is built according to Grade A warehouse standards with a clearance height of 11.9 m, modern storage system, meeting the needs of many industries such as technology, automobiles, industrial production, retail, consumer goods, healthcare and life science.

The infrastructure is designed to be ready for automation, allowing the integration of new generation warehousing technologies, smart cargo handling systems and digital supply chain management solutions. In addition, the project integrates rooftop solar power, energy-saving LED lighting systems and infrastructure serving electric cargo handling equipment, contributing to reducing environmental impact and supporting customers to achieve sustainable development goals.

Mr. Bertrand Juvigny - General Director of DHL Supply Chain Vietnam - said that according to the latest DHL Global Connectedness Report, Vietnam currently ranks 9th in the world in terms of trade connectivity and is forecast to be in the group of 4 countries with the largest absolute growth in commodity trade in the 2026-2030 period.

He assessed that Hung Yen is gradually becoming a strategic production and logistics center of the North, and said that DHL North Logistics Campus is the largest A-class logistics complex of DHL Supply Chain in Southeast Asia.

At the groundbreaking ceremony, Mr. Lam Duc Thuan - Deputy Head of the Management Board of Industrial Parks of Hung Yen province - acknowledged the efforts of REI Vietnam Co., Ltd. and related units in completing legal procedures to ensure that the project meets the conditions for groundbreaking according to regulations.

He affirmed that the Management Board of Hung Yen Provincial Industrial Parks will continue to coordinate with departments and branches to accompany and support investors in removing difficulties, creating favorable conditions for project implementation on schedule, ensuring quality, labor safety, environmental protection and compliance with legal regulations; and at the same time believes that the project will soon go into operation, contributing to promoting socio-economic development of Hung Yen province.
