On the evening of January 30, early morning of January 31, Ho Chi Minh City organized working delegations led by Mr. Nguyen Van Dung - Vice Chairman of Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee, along with representatives of departments and branches, to inspect and work with three wholesale markets on the supply situation of goods to serve Binh Ngo Tet 2026.
At wholesale markets, the Vice Chairman of Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee directly surveyed and inquired about goods sources, purchasing power and prices at stalls selling fruits, vegetables, fresh seafood... items with high consumption demand during the Lunar New Year.

At Thu Duc wholesale market, currently vegetables, fruits and fresh flowers are supplied from many provinces and cities across the country. In which, the main source of domestic vegetables comes from Lam Dong, and the main source of domestic fruits comes from the Mekong Delta provinces. Besides domestic goods, the market receives many types of imported fruits from the US, Australia, Chile, Thailand, India, New Zealand, Canada and China. Chinese goods, including both vegetables and fruits, account for about 8.6% of the total amount of vegetables and 25% of the total amount of fruits coming to the market.
According to Mr. Nguyen Van Huy - General Director of Thu Duc Agricultural Products Market Management and Trading Company, traders have signed contracts with gardeners to stockpile goods for Tet. The volume of goods will increase sharply in the peak of the last four days of the year, from December 24 to 27 of the lunar calendar. It is forecasted that during this period, the amount of vegetables imported into the market will fluctuate from 1,800-2,700 tons/day, fruits 1,500-2,000 tons/day, fresh flowers 100-330 tons/day.
As for Hoc Mon wholesale market, the amount of goods imported into the market during the pre-Tet period is expected to reach 2,600-2,700 tons/day and night, an increase of about 20% compared to the average of 2025. During the peak period from December 25 to 29, the amount of goods may reach 2,700-3,300 tons/day and night, an increase of 30-50%. The amount of pigs imported into the market from December 28 to 29, is estimated at about 700 tons, equivalent to 9,300-10,000 heads/night, double compared to normal days.
At Binh Dien wholesale market, the supply of goods for the Binh Ngo Tet 2026 is basically stable, structured to suit market demand. Prices of essential goods have increased compared to normal days but are not higher than the same period of Tet 2025, except for pork due to the impact of African swine fever causing supply to decrease. Binh Dien Market Company proactively works with wholesalers and traders to grasp supply and demand, regulate goods volume, limit price fluctuations, and are ready to supply goods to the Satrafoods system and partners.

Through the survey, Vice Chairman of Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee Nguyen Van Dung highly appreciated the preparation and distribution of Tet goods by the units.
He said that the city ensures a full supply of essential goods in Ho Chi Minh City to serve people not only during the joyful Spring and Tet holidays but also for daily living needs. Through this, each meal of each family, workers, laborers and students in schools is guaranteed to have food sources with clear origins, food safety and hygiene, contributing to taking care of the health of people and students in the city.
Wholesale markets play a distribution role, and at the same time closely coordinate with wholesale units to ensure that goods supplied to Ho Chi Minh City have clear origins, meeting food safety and hygiene requirements from the initial stages of animal husbandry and cultivation. This work is implemented synchronously with the support of city departments and branches and the coordination of localities to supply goods to the Ho Chi Minh City market - a very large market.
Currently, along with the expansion of administrative boundaries, the scale of the Ho Chi Minh City market has increased significantly in both area and population. In the coming time, the three wholesale markets will continue to research and survey to assess the market share expansion according to the city's new administrative boundaries; at the same time, coordinate surveys in areas such as Binh Duong, Ba Ria - Vung Tau (formerly) to diversify and supplement goods sources, especially seafood sources.
On that basis, wholesale markets will calculate and develop appropriate operating plans, expand their area and market share, and work with traders and small traders to have plans to arrange and organize effective operations, meeting the development requirements of Ho Chi Minh City in the new period.
