Ministry of Industry and Trade speaks out about TikTok advertising links leading to fake websites
After a series of articles reflecting Lao Dong Newspaper about sophisticated scams when shopping on e-commerce platforms (EC), the Ministry of Industry and Trade officially spoke out about the incident.
The Ministry of Industry and Trade said that the situation of TikTok users being led from advertising videos to fake websites to buy fake and poor quality goods is not a transaction on TikTok Shop but takes place on independent websites. The illegal use of KOL/KOC images and brands to advertise fake goods is an act of violating the law.
According to the Department of E-commerce and Digital Economy, TikTok has invested in censorship technology but still mainly controls video content, while the safety assessment of links to external websites is still limited. This is a loophole for subjects to create fake websites, change domain names, advertising accounts and use AI to deceive consumers. See more...
Ministry of Finance speaks out about proposal to raise the tax threshold for business households to 3 billion VND
