Following the people who sell PNJ diamonds

Many customers come to PNJ stores in Ho Chi Minh City to resell diamond jewelry but are surprised by the new payment policy.

According to regulations applied from July 21, PNJ buys back at a rate of about 80% of the invoice value but does not pay immediately but divides it into 5 installments in 120 days. This makes many customers think that they both suffer losses when selling and have to wait 4 months to receive enough money.

Instead of receiving cash according to the roadmap, PNJ encourages customers to exchange diamonds for 24K, 18K or Italian gold jewelry, with a 8% discount on new invoices and a gift of 24K gold.

However, many customers said they wanted to exchange for gold rings to maintain the price but had no goods or were only advised to exchange for jewelry gold, causing them to still have to accept the least optimal option. See more...

Golden land market in Nghe An degraded, many kiosks closed due to sluggish sales

After more than 15 years of operation, Cua Bac market (Thanh Vinh ward, Nghe An) has seriously deteriorated with many kiosks closing, poor drainage system, rusty roofs and steel columns, and accumulated waste.

Small traders said that the number of customers has decreased sharply due to competition from supermarkets, convenience stores and online shopping, while facilities are increasingly degraded.

Many small traders expressed concern about the risk of fire and explosion safety when the electrical system is old, and the walkways are encroached upon by goods. They hope that the market will soon be repaired and upgraded with items such as roofs, drainage systems, electricity, ventilation and walkways to improve business conditions and ensure safety. Investors who are absent from the meeting with the Provincial People's Committee must be responsible if the project is delayed.

As of July 30, 2026, Gia Lai province has disbursed more than 9,322 billion VND of public investment capital, reaching 33.93% of the plan assigned by the Prime Minister and 31.03% of the plan assigned by the Provincial People's Council, on a total capital of more than 30,043 billion VND. Hai Phong adjusts growth scenario, determined to achieve GRDP 13%

In the first 6 months of 2026, Hai Phong's GRDP increased by 11.33%, the highest in the past 5 years, ranking 3rd in the country and leading the group of 7 centrally-run cities. However, GRDP and the index of industrial production (IIP) have not reached the set scenario, so the city sets a GRDP growth target for the whole year at 13%.

According to the adjusted scenario, Hai Phong strives for GRDP in 2026 to reach more than 731,651 billion VND, budget revenue of nearly 194,935 billion VND, total social investment capital of 363,000 billion VND, attracting 3.8-4.3 billion USD of FDI capital, completing 7,135 social housing units and establishing 7,500 new businesses. Quarter III and Quarter IV are both assigned GRDP growth targets of over 14%.

To achieve the goal, Hai Phong requests departments and sectors to accelerate disbursement of public investment, develop industrial park infrastructure, seaports, social housing, remove difficulties for businesses, attract investment, promote trade, logistics, and digital transformation.
