Update on gasoline and oil prices on July 4: World oil prices fluctuate in opposite directions
WTI and Brent oil opened the first trading session of the week with a strong upward trend, but then fluctuated continuously; at one point both commodities turned down sharply, up to 2%, and then rebounded. At the end of the session, WTI and Brent oil prices increased by 0.78% and 0.68% respectively.
By this morning's session, both oil commodities continued the upward trend. At 7:54 am (Vietnam time), WTI crude oil price was at 113.29 USD/barrel, up 0.88 USD/barrel, equivalent to an increase of 0.78%.

Domestically, gasoline and oil prices continue to be kept at a stable level, with RON95-III gasoline not exceeding 26,976 VND/liter, E5RON92 not exceeding 25,428 VND/liter and diesel oil not exceeding 44,788 VND/liter. Vietnam's gasoline price level is lower than many countries in the region, while diesel oil prices are higher than some countries such as China and Thailand.
To control fluctuations, the Ministry of Industry and Trade has flexibly coordinated tools such as the Price Stabilization Fund (used many times on a large scale), sharply reduced taxes and fees, and flexible price management according to market fluctuations. The government also for the first time advanced the budget into the Price Stabilization Fund, in order to maintain price stability and support consumers in the context of a volatile global market.
