Ca Mau Party Secretary requests comprehensive inspection of high-tech agricultural zone
Bac Lieu's high-tech shrimp development agricultural zone, after nearly 9 years of implementation, has not yet been able to operate, despite investing more than 300 billion VND in infrastructure. Many businesses that had registered for investment have withdrawn due to slow project implementation, and hundreds of hectares of land in the planned area are still vacant.

The Management Board said that the project faces many obstacles regarding land law and operating mechanisms, because the current model is only a non-business unit, which limits investment attraction and policy approval for businesses. Currently, some businesses only maintain temporary operations outside, waiting to complete procedures to be officially invested.
Faced with the prolonged situation, Ca Mau Provincial Party Secretary Nguyen Ho Hai requested the Provincial Inspectorate to comprehensively inspect the project and complete the conclusion in the third quarter of 2026 to clarify existing problems, related responsibilities and propose handling directions. The province is also reviewing and completing legal procedures to unlock resources for the project that was once expected to become the center of the high-tech shrimp industry nationwide. See more...
