On the morning of November 2, the International Conference on connecting trade and introducing Lam Dong agricultural products was held in Lao Cai city (Lao Cai province).
Attending this conference, Lam Dong province has nearly 30 companies and businesses participating and bringing dozens of typical agricultural products, strengths of the Southern Central Highlands such as vegetables, flowers, tea, coffee, durian, passion fruit, sweet potatoes, macadamia...
These typical agricultural products will be introduced and promoted to partners from China. This is an activity to concretize the policy of promoting the comprehensive development of bilateral relations between Vietnam and China.
Thereby, strengthening bilateral relations on trade, economy and investment in the agricultural sector between Vietnam and China in general and between Lam Dong province and Chinese provinces in particular.
Speaking at the conference, Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Phuc - Vice Chairman of Lam Dong Provincial People's Committee - emphasized that organizing this conference is very practical in the context that China has been changing its immigration and import-export clearance policies at Vietnam's northern border gates after the Covid-19 pandemic.
The Vice Chairman of Lam Dong Provincial People's Committee affirmed that with rich land resources, diverse terrain, good soil quality, and mild climate, Lam Dong has strengths in developing agricultural and forestry production...
For agricultural development, Lam Dong has a cultivated area of 328,500 hectares. With rich climate and soil conditions, Lam Dong has the potential to produce diverse, high-quality agricultural products such as coffee, tea, vegetables, flowers and fresh fruits.
Currently, Lam Dong has more than 85,000 hectares of vegetable, flower, coffee, fruit production... certified by Viet GAP, Global GAP, 4 C, Utzed...; 376 products are recognized as OCOP products and 5,597 hectares of fruit trees are granted growing area codes (accounting for 44.2% of the total area of pure fruit trees). Lam Dong has 116 growing area codes and 10 durian packaging facilities for export with a maximum capacity of 755 tons/day.
Lam Dong agricultural products are now present in more than 40 countries around the world, with the total export turnover of agricultural products in the first 9 months of 2024 estimated at 335.42 million USD...
At the International Conference on connecting trade and introducing Lam Dong agricultural products for export to the Chinese market in Lao Cai city, businesses introduced their strengths, investment and business cooperation opportunities and some key investment calling projects in the agricultural sector. In particular, the field of preliminary processing and processing of agricultural products of Lam Dong province was emphasized.
